The Orava Cycle Route No. 006 is the main long-distance cycling route through Orava. Over 119 km, it connects the Kysuce, Orava and Liptov regions while providing links to numerous other marked cycle routes. The route starts at the Demänová saddle and descends through Oravská Lesná before continuing via Zákamenné, Krušetnica, Breza and Lokca towards the Orava Reservoir. It follows the reservoir away from the main road, crosses the dam and continues to Trstená. From Trstená, the route follows a cycle path towards Vitanová and continues to Oravice. Beyond Oravice, a more mountainous section leads through the area below Kremenná towards Zuberec. From there, the route continues towards Biela skala, through Huty and the Kvačianska Valley into the Liptov region. From Kvačany, it continues alongside the Liptovská Mara reservoir via Bešeňová, Liptovská Teplá and Lisková to Ružomberok, where the Orava Cycle Route ends. The route combines asphalt, paved and forest roads. Due to its length, mountainous sections and elevation profile, it is classified as a difficult MTB route. Cyclists can tackle the entire route as a challenging long-distance ride or choose shorter sections and combine them with other cycle routes in the region.
